Character Jumping Clip

I will now be adding a new clip to the trailer. This clip will be based on the main character themselves. This clip will be at the end of the trailer, which will make the trailer more exciting and full off suspense. I will be taking this jumping clip from the Tombradier Walkthrough.

I made sure that the source tab was on in the viewing panel and dragged the walk-through to the viewing panel. I then used the In and Out Tool to make a mark at 00:01:15:16 and 00:01:19:11. This clip is where a character is jumping. I wanted this clip at the end of the trailer because as mentioned above it will make the trailer have more suspense and make the viewer want to see it to find out what happens. I then dragged the clip down into the Project Clips Bin and renamed it 'Character Jumping'.

I then dragged the clip onto the timeline before the ending title clip. I then played the trailer from a few seconds before the start of the clip I just added to the timeline. I found a few problems with the clip. One) which was a problem before hand which was the black lines which were on previous clips. Two) the audio, I felt the audio did not really fit with the clip or even the trailer. Three) The actual clip itself. I am not sure whether I should use the whole clip or just the part where the character is jumping.

So, with all this taking into account, I decided to act upon the items mentioned above. Firstly I removed the audio from the clip by Right Clicking on the selected clip and the I went to Unlink which has separated the video and the audio. I then selected the audio and deleted it, so it was just the video left.
Video and Audio unlinked and then the audio removed
Now I am going to be cropping the clip so it matches the other clips before it. To do this I went to the Effects Panel in the same area as the project sources and went to Video Effects > Transform > Crop. I then went to the Effect Control where the settings were for the crop. As before I am only adding a crop to the bottom and the top of the clip because I still wanted the width of the clip to stay fitted to the screen settings. So, like the previous clip which I took from the same source video I set the crop percentage at 20% for both as it was enough that the black line was visible but enough that you are able to still see the clip.

The final comment to work upon which is the actual clip itself. The clip consists of when the character jumps to where the other main character has their hand out to help the character jumping. It stops before the jumping character grab hold of their hand. I was not sure about the clip because it goes into so many different angles and views of the jump it does not look right for the trailer. So, I selected the Razor Tool and watched the video back and began to experiment with different parts of the clip.

I have had a play with the clip and have finally found a part which I feel looks really effective and looks good at the same time. From the original clip I kept the part where the main character starts to just and the camera has a far view of them jumping. However, this on its own did not look quite right and was not long enough for a decent amount, personally. So, I decided to stretch the original clip so that some of the source clip was also part of the clip that I wanted. The source part of the clip was where the main character is running up to take the jump. However, I am now happier with the clip from when it was before, even if I do edit it again, I feel this clip will give me a starting point for after the titles.
