For my first progression post, I am going to be starting to bring all of my video sources into Premiere. To do this I am going to go to the Source Bin and right click on the bin. I then went to Import and a menu will come up which will allow you to search your system to find the video you want to use. In this case I will open "X-Men Days of Future Past Official Trailer 2 (Official Trailer)".

First of all, as stated in the story board, I am going to be starting with the parental awareness at the start of the trailer which is a green background with writing on it. As I have seen when making the previous blog about existing trailers, and from experience of watching up coming movie trailers, they all have it. I also think it is a standard requirement to have, especially if the trailer was to be posted online, which is why I downloaded a trailer (any would do I only downloaded the X-men one was because I was watching it at the time and realized the section I planned to have as there).
So to take this section of of the trailer I clicked on the X-Men Trailer within the source bin, held down the Left Mouse Button and then Dragged it to the viewing panel above the current tab I am currently in.
Now the video is in view I will now use the In and Out Tool. What this tool does is that it selects parts of the a video you wish to use. So, the In Tool which will select the start of the clip and then the Out Tool will select the end of the clip.
[I will be using the in and out tool when selecting most of my clips. This is because it makes life a lot easier than using tools such the razor tool. This is because with the razor tool it allows you to cut clips into two, or three etc. This can only be done on the timeline, meaning that I would have to drag the whole clip to the timeline, position the curser on the timeline where I want it to be cut and do it. This can become complicated for smaller clips because I will have to make two cuts, which will have to be really accurate. Also when creating the cuts I will then need to remove the parts I will no longer need, taking extra time which I did not need to waste.
Where as with the In and Out Tool. I can just select the clip from the original video without having to drag the item onto the timeline and delete extra material which I did not need. I can just place the markers in the exact position and the drag the clip down into my project clips and it is done, with no extra time wasted.]
So in this case I will be placing my In Tool at 0 seconds and my Out Tool at 2 seconds. The clip on the time scale will turn to a blocked between the two tools used. This is the clip that I have selected.
Now I have selected the part of the clip I want, I then clicked on the video held down my Left Mouse Button and Dragged the clip to the Project Clips Bin. (Here is where I will be storing all the clips used for the trailer). I then clicked on the newly created clips name and renamed it as 'Parental Awareness'.
To then add it on the time line on the left hand side of the panel I clicked on the 'Parental Awareness' clip in the Project Clips Bin I clicked on the clip held the Left Mouse Button and Dragged it over to the timeline and dropped it under video 1 section.
I then played the clip in the second view panel on the right hand side of the screen, just to make sure that the clip is OK and has been corrupted or damaged when creating it and transferring it over to the time line. Everything was fine.
