DVD Label |
This leads onto the main image itself which was the main reason I liked the design. I was very worried about how this would turn out, because as mentioned above I wanted to create a design which had the link of ink and pages. I was not sure how this design was going to turn out; however, it did turn out really well, which I was happy with. I really liked how it actually looks like an ink drawing with the scruffier outline around the hair line. I also like the idea of adding a little bit of white to edging, I thought this brought out the black and design really well almost gave a worn edging feeling to the design as well, which is a bonus.
I like the minimalistic look of the design, because there is so much going on the DVD inlay I did not want to overpower the DVD label. However, I don't feel that this design really goes above and beyond what I could do with the design, or I could have even designed a label which did. The only items which really show what I could do do was the Media Logos, and yet they are so small on the disc, that it is not worth looking at. What I mean is that, no one is going to look at the logo design and go, wow they really put a lot of effort into the design as I said because the logo is small. Whereas with the main image, even thought I am happy with it, it kind of looks like an image I have just knocked up in paint. Which is not the impression I really want to give. However, I was not sure how I could improve the design any more; so, I just left it as it was.
I will now be posting step by steps of how I created the final design.
